Life Science Angels is a not-for-profit corporation created for the benefit of its members. We have established two separate committees to review biotechnology and medical device investment opportunities. The investment committees select the companies to present to one of our member dinner meetings based on a rigorous due diligence process. Members make their own investment decisions, but the investments are made through a single LLC. Typical investments range from $200-$600k, with syndicated financings ranging to $2-3M.
Since 2005, LSA has invested approx. $32,000,000 in 40 companies which have received an additional $600+million follow-on funding from VCs. (See Portfolio.), with three liquidity events – NSpine (acquired by Synthes), Textronics (acquired by Adidas International) and Vasonova (acquired by Teleflex) and one IPO, Zogenix.
